The story of a little foster kitten who got FIV and was taken too early

Cheeto was one of my foster kittens, I got him when he was only two weeks old, when Cheeto was a little kitten he got very sick but thankfully recovered. He lived a full and joyful life until he was about three months old, Cheeto along with his other four siblings got gingivitis, so they needed antibiotics to help comate the swelling in his gums (the sad thing is the vet said he didn't even have gingivitis he only had swelling gums that could become gingivitis) so i gave him the antibiotics without question, but it was only a few days and he started rapidly declining Cheeto started losing weight and having GI problems, we took him to the vet and they just gave me some MORE antibiotics for his diarrhea. After that didn't help at all we ran a fecal sample but everything came back negative. Soon after, we took Cheeto to the vet to run a blood test and it showed he had high levels of protein and white blood cells in his blood so it was a very high chance he had FIP (FIP is a type of feline coronavirus that targets the gastrointestinal system) he also had a prolapsed rectum that required emergency surgery, because that 90% of cats diagnosed with FIP pass away within two weeks of being diagnosed he didn't have a good chance and it was the best choice to have him put down humanely.

FIP is present in all cats but it takes a storm to let it take over. In Cheeto's case he was sick when he was young which compromised his immune system and when the two different types of antibiotics were introduced into his system they stripped his gut of all the good bacteria that cats need to survive.

Cheeto lived a great life for the little bit of time he was on this earth and was loved for all five months of this short life
